Earlier this year, our studio was commissioned to recreate one of the most iconic images in art history: Hokusai's The Great Wave, reimagined entirely in paper.
For this private commission, each curl of water, each fold of foam was carefully hand-crafted, transforming a flat sheet into a sculptural wave frozen in motion. A meticulous work of cutting, layering and shaping, bringing a timeless masterpiece into a new, tactile dimension.
A piece that reminds us that paper, in the right hands, can hold the force of an ocean.
